Warsaw Tour - What's worth seeing in Warsaw

The Old Town
Should be the first point on any tourist itinerary. It is one of the most picturesque places in Warsaw, where one can find romantic, narrow streets, churches, summer gardens, stylish cafes, restaurants and wine-cellars, where well-aged wines and delicious Polish specialities are served.
The Old Town was completely destroyed during World War Two and its reconstruction was only completed as late as 1962. It is now on Unesco World Heritage List.

The Barbican
Was constructed in 1548 as part of the 1200m long city wall defences. Today it serves as a bridge between the old and new parts of the town.

The Royal Castle
The residence of Polish kings dating back from the 14th century. It is one of the foremost elements of the reconstructed Old Town complex. Of great interest are the Senate Chamber where the Constitution of 3rd May 1791 was declared, the Throne Room, the Knight's Room, the Marble Cabinet and the Ballroom.

The Royal Route
Is the most representavive part of the city, that joins the Royal Castle with the Palace in Lazienki and Wilanów.
Walking along Krakowskie Przedmiescie and Nowy Swiat you will see most beautiful buildings dating back from the XVII and XIX centuries, monuments, churches (St.Anne's, St.Joseph's, Holy Cross Church), the President palace and also many boutiques, shops, best cafes and restaurants.

The Grand Theatre
Designed by Corazzi, is an immense building in the classical style. It houses the National Opera and the National Theatre with one of the largest stages in Europe and seats for 1800 spectators.
Nearby you will find Pilsudski Square with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and beautiful Saxon Gardens behind.

Lazienki Palace
Established as a summer residence of Polish kings, built in neo-classical style (18th - century). You can admire a magnificent Palace on the Water, the unique Theatre on the island, baroque palaces and a beautiful Royal Park where, in summer period, classical music concerts are organized.

Wilanów
Often called 'Polish Versailles', built in the late 17th century to serve as a summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski. There you will find endless hallways, beautifully decorated chambers stuffed with vases, sculptures, silverware and collections of paintings.
Wilanów is also famous for its splendid gardens which have been matured and restyled over centuries. Sculptures, monuments, garden pavilions, neatly laid flower beds, perfectly ranked trees, a path running along the lake - all that makes it an idyllic and peaceful place for all visitors.
